Hide expandable textThe state defines distributions as ‘the actual amount of income distributed or required to be distributed’ (NJ-1041 instructions, Schedule D, Line 46). You can force the distribution amount on NJ-1041 line 15 using the Distributions (Force) field on the NJGen screen.
The state does not specify where to tax disallowed expenses (to the trust or the beneficiary). Onvio Tax taxes disallowed expenses to the trust, not the beneficiary. If the language of the trust states to tax disallowed expenses to the beneficiary, use the Distributions (Force) field on the NJGen screen to override the calculated amount.
